A lot of good catering happens away from the plate: timing dinner around the toasts, knowing where the extra chairs are, getting the vegetarian meals to the right seats. Here’s how we plan it with you.
01The first conversation
Before we talk food, we want to hear about the event: who’s coming, what you’re celebrating, and what matters most to you about the day. Bring whatever you have, even if it’s just a date and a rough headcount.
Half-formed ideas are welcome.02Planning the menu
We build the menu around the season, the venue, the food you love, and how you want people to eat: seated, standing and mingling, or a bit of both.
Dietary needs go on the list from the start.03Working out the logistics
We sort out timing, kitchen access, rentals, and the run of the evening with you, your venue, and your planner if you have one, so everyone is working from the same plan.
Everyone gets the same timeline.04On the day
Our team sets up, serves, and keeps an eye on the room: topping up what’s running low, making sure the guest with the nut allergy gets the right plate, keeping dinner on time. You spend the day with the people you invited.
Go enjoy your guests. We’ve got the kitchen.05Through the final guest
The end of the night gets the same planning as the start: the last round of service, when breakdown begins, and handing the space back to your venue on time.
Nobody should be stacking chairs at their own wedding.
All you need to do is show up hungry.
The people
you’ll plan with.
Meet Jamie, Tara & Alison
Between us, we’ve spent more than twenty years catering weddings, galas, and large events, and we care as much about how your guests are treated as what they’re served.
Catering By Moonlight is our own company now. We’re building it around the parts of the job we’ve always cared about most: cooking well and looking after people.
